Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader!

The University of Scouting Committee of the Blue Grass Council is proud to present the 16th University of Scouting.  The University of Scouting offers supplemental training for all registered adults for all phases of scouting.  These supplemental trainings do not replace the formal BSA training for your position.

New Virtual Experience!

The 16th Blue Grass Council University of Scouting is going virtual.  The courses will be presented using Google Classroom.  After you register by February 24, 2021, you will receive an e-mail invitation with a link for each of your classes that will grant you access.

Fun, learning and fellowship!  The tools you need for your position!

There will be courses for Scouts BSA Leaders, Cub Scout Leaders, Venture Advisors, Commissioners, Order of the Arrow, youth, camp staff and camp volunteers, charter organization representatives, committee members and interested parents and adults.  Blue Grass Council has a wealth of experienced leaders who will provide you with information that will make your position in Scouting more exciting and fun.  Best of all, you will gain knowledge so that you can provide the best available program for the youth in your community.

Courses for Youth and Parents

The University of Scouting is opening its courses for youth (ages 11-18) and parents.  In the course listing, please notice the “Appropriate For” column to direct you to the courses you may find most interesting.  This does not mean that you cannot register for courses that are not marked as appropriate, just that you may find these courses to be less interesting than the ones that are marked as “appropriate for”.  Youth and parents will have the opportunity through these courses to learn Scout skills and to learn about the Boy Scouts of America programs and how they work.

♦ We recommend that participants attend on a device with a larger screen:  desktop, laptop, iPad, tablet, etc.

♦ Register using the e-mail that you will be using to attend University of Scouting.

♦ For those accessing Google Meet from a browser, you will need to allow access to the camera and microphone from the browser settings.  We had some issues with people being able to access the test class because the camera and microphone were not enabled.

PLEASE NOTE:  The degree program was revamped recently. The new program is outlined in the registration packet

***Please download the registration packet FIRST to get information on the degree programs and classes offered.***

We recommend that you register online for this event since class registration is done in real time. If you do not see a class offered online that is in the course catalog, it means that this class has reached its limit and you will need to choose something else.

All mailed/faxed registrations will be entered as time allows so be sure and choose alternate classes.
